The rest of the house
One of the objectives of the remodel is to get the kitchen and bathrooms to better match the original Arts & Crafts style of our 1913 home - you can guess the age of the previous remodel. Here are a couple of photos of the living room and dining room. Obviously not taken for a magazine photo shoot (more like a TV reality show on living with boys).

Hi! I happened upon your blog this evening, and had to leave a comment.
I love the photos, and I can't wait to see the it unfold. Was it a duplex that is being madeover into a single?
Good luck, and I hope that everything goes well. It certainly sounds like you have a great plan!
Not a duplex, just a single family home that was "remuddled" in the 50s.
We can't wait to see it too!
Liz and Steve:
Thank you for updating us on your whereabouts this summer and the exciting remodel plans. The extra space and room updates look great. As someone who has lived through a kitchen remodel and a house addition, I applaud your decision to move out during the construction mess. Can't wait to see photos of the progress. If you get too crazed, bring your boys and come on down for a visit. We promise no hurricanes.
Mary
